Elmore Leonard R.I.P.

Elmore Leonard passed away this morning in Detroit at the age of 87.

The N.Y.T. has already published its obituary as did MSN.

I haven't read all of his books but what I read of him

Gold Coast,

Rum Punch,

 Mr. Majestyk,

Cuba Libre,

Pagan Babies,

Tishomingo Blues

 and The Complete Western Stories

was more than satisfying and inviting for another one...

The work of Mr. Leonard is of course always connected to film.

Watch this very nice Elmore Leonard at the Movies compilation :

But of course Valdez is Coming

and Hombre are unforgettable.

Elmore Leonard updates

Some not so very recent, but still interesting news on Elmore Leonard :

Fits his novel 'The Switch' might be adapted for film says the Guardian,
and then the 'missing link' in the Carl Webster saga will be filled this autumn when 'Comfort to the Enemy' will be published as a trade papaberback, after its initial publication as a series in the NYT.

Elmore Leonard & Quentin Tarantino

Wamg published an article on a possible new project of Quentin Tarantino, the adaptation of Elmore Leonard's "Forty Lashes Less one".

Given his adaptation of "Rum Punch" another Elmore Leonard adaptation could become very interesting and imagine Quentin Tarantino doing a western?!

But the Filmnest lists an article in which Tarantino says he'll never adapts somebody else's work again....

Sans doute to be continued...
